Why I'm Running

I'm running in memory of Jon Goss, a fraternity brother who recently lost his battle with Chronic Mylegenous Leukemia. Please help me by donating as much as you can. You donation goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for all blood cancers, so this never has to happen again. To read more about Jon and his fight, go to his blog.

Day 4 - Finally in the pool

Today was my first day in the pool. It has been 6 years since I've swam laps with goggles on. It was...interesting. So here's the breakdown:

50m Freestyle in 1 min 5 times
100m Freestyle in 2 minutes 2 times
25m Kick in 30 seconds 6 times
25m Pull in 30 seconds 6 times
100m Freestyle in however long it would take me.

So i got through the first 4 with little issues. Sometimes i stuck to the break times, other times i rested a little longer. Then came the last 100m. I got, oh i'd say 40m into it and i got the WORST cramp in my right calf. So i stopped, tried to stretch and rub it out so that i could finish the 60m i have left to go. That proved to be a little more difficult then expected. So i called it a night.

Overall it was a great workout, and a good way to ease back into swim training. I know that i can only go up from here!

Thank you for those who have donated already, and thank you for those who will donate in the NEAR future ;) Remember it's easy, (button on the right) it goes to help fight blood cancers, and you could win an iPod Touch! (The next incentive is in the works, check back soon!)

Thank you for your continued support. GO TEAM!
