Why I'm Running

I'm running in memory of Jon Goss, a fraternity brother who recently lost his battle with Chronic Mylegenous Leukemia. Please help me by donating as much as you can. You donation goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for all blood cancers, so this never has to happen again. To read more about Jon and his fight, go to his blog.

Yet another marker set

Today was my swimming marker set.  10 minutes as fast as I can, and count my laps, where 1 lap = 1 length.  I warmed up for 10 minutes, which is actually fun.  Surprisingly fun.  I get to swim at a level 1, and could keep going indefinitely it seems like, which my coaches tell me is the point.  I focus on my form, try to kick as much as i can, and it gives me time to swim away the stresses of the day and the stresses of life.   After the warm up, i stretched a little and went into the marker set.  I swam 18 laps.  450m. Which if i can keep up that pace, which i couldn't for 1500m, the length of the swimming part of the race, it would be about 34'.  So far if you add up all of my times i would finish the race in about 3:20.  Which, in my world seems ok, in the greater world however, the record is 1:39:50.  Which i'm going to be nowhere near, but seeing the times added up my goal is to be under 3hrs.  Any of you who've done a triathlon before, let me know if this is a good goal.

As usual, i'd LOVE for you to donate!  Your donation is fully tax deductible, and goes to find a cure for blood cancers.  Let's fight together, i'll keep training and you keep reading and donating, just use the button to the right that says donate now!
