Today was my first two sport workout. REALLY early at the College of Marin. We started with an injury prevention clinic, which took to long and i should have brought some food, because by the time i got in the pool i hadn't eaten in about 2 hours. The pool workout was as follows:
200m warm up
5 x 50m drills — kick drills for 25m free for 25m
2 x 75m drills — pull drills for 50m free for 25m
4 x 75m free
25m 20" rest
50m 20" rest
75m 20" rest
100m 20" rest
125m 20" rest
100m 20" rest
75m 20" rest
50m 20" rest
25m
25m cool down
for a grand total of...1550m NICE! I didn't do the math until just then. So i swan more than the distance i'm going to swim in the race, and it felt great! Granted it wasn't at race pace, or continuous, but that will come in time, for now i'm stoked.
Then we got out of the pool and went for a trail run, with about a 10 minute transfer time. It was raining, and the trails were muddy for the first half mile, which was oh so much fun for tired legs, but then it went into the words and was beautiful. It really took me back to some of the course i ran in college for cross country. We ran for about 2.3 miles and it took me 23'39" which is a pace of 10'01' Which is right on track for where i am in training. Two great training days in a row. Tomorrow is a (much needed) rest day.
Thank you for keeping the donations coming! Please send and email out to everyone you can with a quick note about what I'm doing, and point them to the blog! The more people who know, the better!
Why I'm Running
I'm running in memory of Jon Goss, a fraternity brother who recently lost his battle with Chronic Mylegenous Leukemia. Please help me by donating as much as you can. You donation goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for all blood cancers, so this never has to happen again. To read more about Jon and his fight, go to his blog.
